Defaulted Ford Consolidated Direct Student Loans I have just received a notice of default on a
consolidated William D. Ford Federal Direct
Student Loan, although I have been making the
payments. SInce I an not sure of the cause of this
action, and I believe it was done illegally, I
would like to know about others who have received
similar notices, to gather evidence for a legal
action (possibly as a class) against the U.S.
Department of Education.-if you're not sure how it defualted then it must have been illegal.
Here's an id... If I had enough money in my retirement acct to pay off my student loans,
would that be wise? If I had enough money in my retirement acct to pay off my student loans,
would that be wise? I am 32 yrs old, have 36K in student loans with a 30
yr payback time and 7.65% interest rate and payments of $258/month.
Would it be stupid to use my retirement $ for my student loans, or would-I would advise against it, not from a strictly financial standpoint, but
from an emotional one, as well. If you took just enough money from your
retirement account to pay off your loan, you will need to sp... student loans and bankruptcy timing I think I have a fairly good chance of having my $45,000 in student
loans discharged in a bankruptcy. I'm currently disabled (severe
depression) and unlikely to be able to repay the loans in the future.
But, of course, you never know what a particular judge will decide.
I'm in Olympia, WA (Thurston county).
Here's where I'm confused. I don't want a bankruptcy on my record for
10 years if I can't get my student loans discharged. I have about
$13,000 in credit card debt and ow... I have American bill about Student Loans,

remaining credit card payments--not huge, but at least a couple of
months worth). I will need to send money at least monthly to my US

2) I have borrowed some fixed rate credit card loans (3% and less). Is

my loans? I have two sets of student loans. One set are consolidated stafford
loans for a total of about 55K at 4.125% interest. The second set are
private loans for a total of about 47K which are at 4 and 5% interest.
My monthly payments work out to about $800 per month. My annual
salary is just over 40K. Needless to say, its very difficult
(actually impossible) to do any saving whatsoever.
Can you recommend a way that I can lower my monthly payments? I
called my lender and they were... Suny Student Loan I'm trying to convince my daughter to consider a NY State school. I don't
want to brow beat her into going to a state school...so can anyone give
me some input about NY State schools...anyone at one or with kids at one
having a good experience or getting a good education....I need some good
reasons.-SUNY schools only look inexpensive. If you are depending on financial
aid a private college or university can usually equal or beat a SUNY
offer, unless the student is top calibre and mer... I just recieved my student loan from the school,A few questions I would like to ask I just recieved my student loan from the school, and rather
coincidentally had a proccess server come sniffing around.
Now, here's the question-- next week I was going to school to speak
to the legal clinic for a BK 7. A few questions I would like to ask

Can student loans be frozen? The documents I signed for them stated
that they could only be used for legitimate school expenses, and
detailed many horrible penalities for misuse :).
In other words, does the... Student loan questions I currently have ~$32,000 in student loans (most of which has been in
forbearance for a year and is scheduled to start payment in Feb.). I am
looking at the many different federal student loan consolidation options and
am noticing that they are all pretty similar as far as interest rates and
eligibility. Is there a "best" lender to use or a "best" deal out there as
far as federal loan consolidation? Is there a website that lists the various
loan consolidation packages that each lende... Anyone know what the latest information is on defaulted
student loans and a website with this kind of information? Anyone know what the latest information is on defaulted
student loans? Client got a call and they talked pretty
rough, according to her. What club are they allowed to use
these days to hit the defaulted party with? There is the IRS
refund offset program and the fact that the loans are not
dischargeable in bankruptcy. They can also garnishee wages,
if I remember correctly, by going straight to the employer.
Client claims that she has not heard from these folks in
almost 5 years. A... I have some questions about Student Loan ,help??? I will be attending school beginning this fall and am trying various

period I've payed off a $10000 student loan. A friend says that the payments
aren't deductable, only the interest is. I thought student loans were tax
free, so why did I have to earn 16000 taxed dollars to pay off a $10000
loan? Is this the way it is?-Borrowed money isn't income.
Repaid loans aren't deductions.
The cost of "student loans", the interest, is an income reduction not to
exceed $2,000 in year ... Is it true that one can take tax Deduction for Student Loan on tution fees?
If so, what is the amount? Is it true that one can take tax Deduction for Student Loan on tution fees?
If so, what is the amount?-Income tax deduction? No, not really.
Educational expenses are only deductible if they maintain present
skills for present employment. Education that qualifies you for
another job is not deductible.
-Although there are no tax deductions for tuition payments for individuals,
there is a new "HOPE" tax credit and "Lifetime learning" tax credit.
-Starting this year there are three... I have an Student Loan Question, please help me. Can anyone tell me, or find a link about not paying your student

anticipated repayment start date, of student loans? I thought I
recalled reading somewhere that a lender can require you to start
