why some people would even buy Western Union Prepaid Credit Card?

Edwards Finance > Credit Card

Q. why some people would even buy Western Union Prepaid Credit Card? Prepaid debit cards comments I think it strange on some prepaid cards, they charge you a monthly fee plus an activation fee and other fees. Marsh and cvs sell those cards. Those card companies charge you a 9.95 plus a 4.95 monthly fee right away. Including the western union prepaid debit card. This shows a fee of for $4.99 per card. If you have a checking account with them, some banks my wavie that fee for the purchase of a gift card. I sure would like to know why some people would even buy those cards? These following don’t charge you a monthly fee unless you don’t use it all within 6 months to 13 months depending on your state laws. Simon Gift Card (Visa debit Card) US Bank (Visa debit Card) Key bank (Master Card debit card) National City (Visa debit Card)

A. - It can only be because they don't know any better. And maybe they can't get a credit card so they figure this is better than nothing. But you know what, we probably say the same thing about people who pay interest on their credit cards. But I agree, those Green Dot and similar cards that have an endless stream of fees are truly evil. Commerce Bank in NY/NJ issues these as well, and there is no fee to get it. Do the other banks charge for the card? I know that Simon charges $1.50, which I thought was a major ripoff when they replaced their previously fee-free gift certificates with them. Sadly, not they don't look that bad. - Master Card. Twenty to activate it, no monthly fees, but there's a dollar per transaction charge. I only use it a few times a month, so I don't get hit too hard. - But it is not reloadable and you have to be a customer. PriceGrabber.com used to offer no-fee Visa gift card, but they apparently no longer do so.
