FAvorite phone system ?

Edwards Finance > Phones

Q. what is your favorite interconnect telephone system and why....I have heard techs speek kindly of vodavi phone systems!

A. PANASONIC XDP DIGITAL its a one pair digital system that supports a analog telephones without and extra cards. max ports 24 telephone lines 64 digital ports and 56 SLT or single line ports. The Voice mail system has two features that I haven't see by any other system. Live call screening and two-way recording. Dollar for dollar this system is one of the best for small company's that need 24 or less telephone lines. Even though I am partial to Nortel, the system I would pick is one that is widely available, has a proven track record, can be serviced by many vendors (competition is good), and makes the customer happy by filling both their perceived and real needs. Most phone systems can accomplish most needs...it is often the supplier or administrator that makes the difference. For example, I can perform wonders on a Nortel, but would probably screw up a Rolm or ATT system...making the customer unsatisfied. However, someone else may be able to do just the opposite. For smaller systems, I like the Norstar because it requires very few repair calls. It is a very durable system, and has easy T1 interfacing. For larger systems, my fav is the Meridian Option 61-81 system...mainly because it's the one I know...and has a very proven track record of success. As for Vodavi...ya, fine system...maybe: Can you get parts quickly? Can you get more than one local company to service it? Does your/the customer think it's a good system? Are the manuals written well (not translated)? Can you get spares on the secondary market? Can the system be worked on without taking it down completely? Is it a component system...modular replacement of components?
