Earl / The Office ?Q. The "Earl" episode almost beat last week's, and I think "The Office" episode has to rank up there as one of their best. Brilliant stuff. A. Though I wouldn't say 'one of their best' it was certainly a good couple of shows. Though in the case of the Office spoiler they better not be serious about Dwight quitting. Seeing Dwight and Jim working well together - that was good. Dwight's seeming wackiness with the phone was great, once it became apparent that he was just illustrating the same point Jim was making about large, impersonal paper companies. Earl and the Office were two quite outstanding episodes. I liked how everyone got their intro on the Earl episode. Initially, I thought it was going to be entirely a "My name is Randy" episode. I liked how all the chararacter's plots intertwined with each other, all over some dumb silverware. We've seen this in other shows where the same moment of time is played but from several perspectives, but this did it better. It was funny to see Crabman's brief back story. The Office's episode highlights: 1. Unexpected face slap from Jim to Dwight. A LOL moment. 2. Jim calls Kelly to illustrate the point, and just hangs up on her abruptly. That was a class act. 3. Jim and Dwight actually working together and getting the point across. I thought Dwight was just acting like an idiot with the phone since he has a cell. One can only assume that was their rehearsed schtick with previous sales(back when Dwight had a mullet) 4. The look of Angela like she wanted to kill the daily show guy. 5. The perms. i assume Phyllis did it to resemble the customer's wife, thus, making the sell. 6. Ryan's humiliation. I assume this was to get back at the daughter incident. The writing was MUCH slicker in this episode compared to past episodes. Past episodes had long moments of silence for nonexistant laughs, but this episode took a different route. The result? Dwight got slapped. So let me get this right about Dwight's trip. He just took a trip to NY to send off the tax forms on Angela's behalf? I don't see the big deal about it. Dwight was delivering the tax forms because Angela forgot. The point was Angela is so anal she couldn't let anyone know she made a mistake like that. Angela also doesn't want the rest of the office to know she and Dwight are a couple. Dwight fell on his sword for her. :) Both Earl and The Office were great this week. Dwight and Angela are trying to keep their relationship a secret. With them not willing to fess up, Michael was left to conclude that Dwight was backstabbing him with the higher ups, like he did earlier this season.
