BCIS Telephone Customer Service ?

Edwards Finance > Phones

Q. Gregory Siskind writes "I wanted to alert you all to a potentially serious development at the BCIS that could cause a drastic deterioration in the level of customer service at the agency."

A. Another tidbit I read today. I think someone else alerted us to the change (maybe it was Matt U) but it bears repeating. I like the author's idea of congressional staff saying something to their bosses! I read this on the BCIS website a while back and posted it here and then Mr. Udall posted when it was to take place. Thank you Mr. Udall as at the time of my reading and posting the BCIS had yet to determine the exact date of the change. Mr. Udall also outlined the tier foundation of the phone system and while it appears on the surface it should work, as we all know in order to qualify for the position of phone operator at the BCIS National Customer Service Number, one must first fail the test that you are given. Up until a month or so ago I had no long distance service on my phone. When I had L/D service on my local phone, it was AT&T - I just got fed up with the cost of having AT&T and not making any L/D calls. My finacee and I live together and she was a long time Global Bankruptcy customer on her phone - and she is the opposite of me - talks L/D for hours. OK... So we give AT&T another chance. They finally started offering cable internet service in our neighborhood a couple of months ago. We still can't get DSL so this is our big chance to have some speed at home (OK .. not "@Home"... ha ha). They also were offering cable telephony, allowing us to say adios to Pacific Bell. So we get the internet service. Free installation, and since I bought my own modem, we save the $10 a month on rental. $19.95 for the first three months, $35 after that. (DSL around here is now $50 a month...where its available) We also get the telephone service - so our dial tone is coming from a box on the side of the house that is connected to same cable as our modem (we don't have cable TV). $21.95 a month for the phone with caller ID, call waiting, blah, blah. (We didn't get vm, we'll still use the machine, thanks). A second line is only $6 with the same features. L/D is .05 in-state, .07 out-of-state. Free install.
