Finding Telephone Conferencing Equipment ?Q. I'm interested in purchasing equipment to do multiline conferencing (dialin). Used to be the thing to do back when I was phreaking about five years ago. Someone here must know where this type of equipment can be purchased. I'm sure most of you can guess what comes up for searches containing "telephone partyline conference equipment" on most search engines :[. I'm looking for equipment for either PBX or POTS type setups. A. I need to maximise our customers conferencing experience and am looking for some advice and recommendations on what equipment will best suit. On a budget of around £1000 (per room), I need meeting room equipment that integrates with conferencing server. I am looking for wide angle web camera to capture the video. Is there any hardware to improve transfer rates and provide compression? Does your budget have to cover all of the following equipment? WinXP PC, 128MB ram, 8MB video card Video Capture Card depending on camera selected Camera LCD Projector Microphone or use Telephone conference call for Audio Besides having downloaded the trial version of cinecom. I have installed on my PC, a British Telecom video conferencing unit that only uses "Telephone numbers," to connect to another user. I cannot connect using IP addresses. This is working perfectly and all I do is make a telephone call and I'm connected. Every time I try to connect to cinecom with my down loaded trial package, I receive a notice, telling me that it is unable to connect to Director Cimecom. Com. If I try to connect myself, all I receive is a busy tone, but I'm still not connected! I am on a LAN (local area network). I have a security "Firewall." This is because my server is the local UK Government! You see, I won this computer, complete with video conferencing and all the extra hardware/software I needed/wanted to make it as easy to use as possible. I entered a writing competition for disabled people, that was being held by the local government and out of five thousand entries, I was one of twenty people that won a home computer. The only proviso is, I have to use the local government as my server and this they adhere to. The settings on my video conferencing, is set for making telephone calls to anyone else who has a telephone call video. The office down town will not change the settings, as they are afraid, people will be able to breach their "firewall." All I have to do, is dial a number on my hands free telephone and if the person at the other end has a video conference equipment, then they appear on my screen. Can anyone please help me? The other thing is, I can also use this telephone for making ordinary calls, as well as use it for video conferencing.
