SMall Business Telephone Needs ?Q. I have a small business with total of three staff who need to use the phone needing two lines. What equipment do I need, where do I get it and if I expand willit cope with an extra line and an extra telephone. A. Take a look at something like the Panasonic KA624 (prob around £400 ish??) - needs system phones though Or even if you just want normal lines and cheap the solwise s308 - fine for most needs but normal phones. Three lines and eight extentions max - suits me though. www.solwise.co.uk. Consider having the same number for all lines (aux working) or using a non-geographic number for line hunting. The first option will be prefered by your callers though - non-geographic numbers are not inclusive and \ or are surcharged for many people. Cheapest way is to give each member of staff a BT Converse 2025 2-line phone (£50 each). You would need to run both BT lines to each location but there would be no interconnection between them. A bit basic I know, but a simple solution if they are all in the same office. Most reliable I've seen is the Samsung 408 or 408i Virtually plug and play. Take up to 4 lines and 4 normal phones although you can put system phones on. The 408i is for ISDN allowing computers to use the lines. etc etc Try having a look at www.abbeytelecom.co.uk There are others out there Panasonic etc. But reliability try Samsung. Price try a small Panasonic. The self instal www.phones4less.co.uk is a telephone system but not the price of a standard PBX. Does more than you need and better than the BT two line system as you can transfer etc.
