problem with SBC communication ?Q. 3 weeks ago I moved to my new office and I received new numbers after installing my business and emailing all my cutstomers The Tech from SBC called me and told me that They have to change my numbers This is a close system, I can't get to the right person to discuss this problem They just change my number I need help It's impossible that this is How it work!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is very very Bad We can't allow that that to happened A. Not to be unduly harsh, but if you can't or won't express youirself more clearly than this, your business has far greater obstacles to overcome than the temporary inconvenience of a changed telephone number. After all, if the numbers are new, you don't have a long history with your customers at this number. Perhaps you should focus on communicating with customers and prospects who share your native language - it appears that this would not be English. Change how? Why? I don't understand the problem. Is it only your numbers that have changed, or does the change affect a large set of numbers? Do you mean the 3-digit area code is changing? Or do you mean the 7-digit phone number is changing? Why can't you just email the new numbers to your customers? Didn't you keep the list of e-mail addresses? What did you mean by "installing my business"? I don't understand that phrase. ALBERT, the phone company probably has a monopoly and don't care. I'm not sure if the change in the phone number you mention is because of an 'area code' change or not. But there is absolutely nothing you can do when they change area codes, because it means they ran out of numbers and had to create a whole new set of numbers by breaking up the area codes. If the area code itself did not change, try dialing the old number they gave you and see if someone else is using it. If not, call them and say that you dialed it and no one else is using it so you don't see why you can't have it back, since all your customers already know that number. If they don't care, you will have no choice but to email all your customers with your changed number. Be sure to use the words 'changed number', because if you just say 'new' they will think they already have your new number and not bother to check it. Congratulations on your business and all the hard work you are putting into it and the difficulty of learning another language. There is just one more thing that I want to be sure of..... the tech that called you, he changed the number that your customers have to use when they call you - is that correct? I want to be sure that the number he changed was not really the number that you are suppose to use on your computer when you dial the internet, because if you use the wrong one, your bill may be a long distance number for you. So are you certain that he changed your business phone number, or might have been your dial up access number to the internet? This is an URL I found that may be helpful to straighten out what is going on with your account: http://www.sbc.com/ True, but the OP said that he had just moved and was given a new number. What difference does it make what the NEW phone number is since its NEW anyway and not widely circulated? That's the part of the OP's complaint that I do not understand
