Why haven't ANY of the politicians recommended using the surplus to reduce the National Debt which is costing us over $200 billion annually in interest payments ( and much of it to foreign governments and over seas investors)?

Q. Its disgusting to see how the politicians are manipulating a gullible public. The Democrats are proposing several dozen new government initiatives to spend the "surplus" on and the Republicans want to spend it on a tax cut. What deception and sophistry! There is no surplus. Last years surplus of $70 billion resulted in the National Debt INCREASING BY $132 billion dollars. The surplus is practicing the fine art of political deception with creative book keeping.
