TTY Interface for computer Phone Answering System? -REPLY

Q. My wife and I (Hearie and Deafie couple) just upgraded to a new computer. This computer has a speakerphone modem and a very nice voice/fax answering application. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to connect our TTY so that we can use the phone answering system for both voice and TTY calls. Any ideas?

A. My computer has a 'speakerphone' modem that allows me to place and receive voice calls through the speakers and microphone of my computer. It also has a very nice voice/fax answering system. The ultimate solution would be if I was able to somehow integrate a TTY into this system. I doubt that's possible, but I was hoping. I think Harry's solution is the next best. Using the TTY detector, I could route TTY calls to the TTY, and Voice or fax calls to the computer. The computer is able to differentiate between voice and fax and handle them accordingly. It seems nothing ever works for us 'mixed' couples of deaf and hearing. It always has to be one or the other.
