Landline phone headset ?

Q. Does anyone know where I can purchase a headset to be connected to a landline phone? This is a handsfree headset like those used by telephone receptionist or operators. This is for use on a single line phone, not a PABX or keyphone system. I would appreciate it if anyone who has and uses or seen such a headset could provide me with the exact location of the shop selling the item.

A. I've seen them being sold at Sg Wang.. one of the walkman/phone shops parallel to parkson. Why not get a cordless phone with a headset jack? I plug mine in and clip the phone to my pants... total freedom. Walk around the house and talk while doing stuff. I did modify an old cordless phone to support a headset, but it wasn't as loud as a "native-headset" phone. If you can find a headset with a 100ohm earpiece it would be an ideal match for a Panasonic cordless. Mine was RM90 though. You can get headset phones like that from Singapore for about $35.. and they include a dialler. It's like a normal phone half the size of a pcmcia card (thicker of course) with a plug-in earpiece. I wasn't really happy with mine though. I changed the earpiece and got much better sound. Now, if only it was louder!
