Q. I have no doubt these business entities are technically non-profit corporations. However, because of all the fairly recent advertising, hard sell telephone soliciting etc. from innumerable start-up companies. There is good reason for me to suspect there is a strong money incentive and a large amount of money being made, even though that money is not technically being aquired as "profit". Whadaya ya know/think about this?
A. The debt consolidation company itself is non-profit, but they use other, profit-making companies to handle their loans and sometimes even their administration, and those companies just happen to be owned by chairman of the non-profit company.
