REFINANCING A HOME AFTER BANKRUPTCY

Edwards Finance > Loans

Q. I puchased a new mobile home last year. With all the debt i had i could only get a variable rate mortgage. Bankruptcy should be discharged in another month. Could i be able to refinance in the future for a lower rate with all my debt gone? I know im probably dreaming. Any info would be appreciated

A. Yes, you can refinance. The interest rate you will get depends on a host of factors, including the lender, how much time has passed since your discharge, and what your credit is after the discharge. You may want to speak with a mortgage broker for some thoughts on how best to proceed.
