Are girls taking up electrical and electronic engineering?Edwards Finance > Mechanical Engineering Q. I was just wondering are there girls taking up electronic and electrical engineering courses, and i would also like to know what that electronic and electrical engineering stuff is all about. A. -Go to website * www.engology.com *. It might help. -Yes, but not enough. Like any good job, you should LOVE the work and not go for the money. -At my school (Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology) our M/F ratio is about 80% right now. Pretty good for having been an all-male school within the last decade. A non-proportional amount of women are actually in electrical engineering, however. I only know two or three that have been in my classes. Most of the girls seem to go into chemical or civil engineering. Typically, the women electrical engineers I've seen actually do much better than many of their male counterparts. The ones I know are also some of the most recognized and involved people in the school. Possibly you won't be checking this newgroup for a reply, but I would suggest it. I have found that many knowledgeable people frequent this newgroup, and many of the conversations can provide interesting information about electrical engineering concepts. - They don't have the right cerebral cortex to be good engineers nor scientists . Ever hear of a world renowned female scientist ? Not one , ever . Some people get thru E.E. by simply memorizing everything . They rarely acomplish anything more than being a left brained teacher . Females only have the left side working well . They can only do math and things that require nothing more than memory .
