Lucent Phone Trouble?

Edwards Finance > Phones

Q. I bought a Lucent 960 and 965 caller ID/call waiting phone. The call waiting rarely works. The problem is not in my phone line or phone service or in my use of the phone. Lucent has sent me 4 different replacement phones and they all have the same problem. Lucent refuses to give me a refund. Has anyone else had a problem with the call waiting feature on these phones? Or is it just me?

A. Actually, Lucent itself isn't involved with those phones anymore since October 1, 1997. Philips is the company and their web site is at http://www.philipsconsumer.com/ . Can't you return the phone to the place of purchase? They are the ones who actually have your money. :) I guess you can also call (908) 582-8523 and ask for help. I have had a terrible time with Lucent Technologies. They overbid a small office phone system by over $1000.00. The system was already in place and simply had to be reconnected to the CO lines. They then charged me for running wire, which they never did. I had to write them several times and the BBB before they replied. They final called me several weeks ago and told me that would send a refund. I received a credit for a maintenance contract that had been cancelled. I want my $$ back. I guess I will have to call again tomorrow. I have spent 10+ hours on the phone dealing with this. Actually, I think there is alot about Lucent you don't know. Not only do they provide all sorts of in-the field resources, they are one of the few world-wide players that can literally turn a vacant building into a communications backbone. Actually what I don't know about Lucent is only the tip of the ice berg. There are more subjects about which I know nothing than those about which I know anything. I'm pretty good with security systems and I possess a smidgen of knowledge on related subjects. Oh yes, and I have learned a little here and there about running a web based business, even one that runs on a little, old "hobby-sized" NT server. I hope yours is also doing well.
