Q. I am a student from Los Angeles, I know you all heard that LAUSD teachers are going on strike February 27, 2001. They have a good reason which is not enough pay or something but I think they ae being kind of selfish. The more time they are out of school the more days it takes out of our summer break and the seniors graduation is postponed and people who are going into the military have to wait. I think that teachers should handle it in a more peacful way. I thought they were sophisticated adults but they are acting like children. I think they should think about us before they strike.

Like leaving teaching and getting non-teaching jobs that pay them wages that they can live on? Maybe your parents should think about paying more taxes so that they can pay teachers what they are worth... or sending you to private school.
