live debt free or work 90 hours a week when I graduate from law school. ?Q. I have applied to 8 schools. I can really use some helpful input about each of them. I am graduating this May with my bachelors and masters in accounting, tax emphasis, from the University of Florida. I am considering tax law and more specifically estate planning. I have done an intership for a Big 6 firm and am not too keyed up on tax anymore. Basically I am unsure of what I want. I do know that I do not want to work 90 hours a week when I graduate from law school. Hey money is nice, but only if you have the time to enjoy it. Anyway I have applied to UF, University of Virginia, Georgetown, George Washington, Cornell, University of North Carolina, U. Texas at Austin, and U. Southern Cal. A. I am a little confused, you said that you are considering tax law but you are tired of tax. Anyway, that probably has no effect on where you go to school anyway. I graduated from UCF and am now at Georgetown University. I love it here, but then again I have always wanted to go to Law School. I think that the best advice that I can give you is to go to the best school that you can get into and if you do not get into a top tier school go to University of Florida or some other school where you can get instate tuition and is located in a state that you can bear to live in for a long time. Coming out of Georgetown, UVA, or UT, etc... you will have greater access to the national big firms and will be more likely to be able to move states after law school. At the lower tiered schools you will have access, generally, to the employers that know about those schools, which tends to be more regional. However, if you do not want to work 90 hours a week your best bet is going to be to go to a school where your debt will be minimized. Sometimes I think that maybe I should have gone to UF for exactly that reason. but, had I done that I would not be going to work at two great firms in Southern California next summer, so I guess it is worth it. Anyway, feel free to contact me if you have any questions
