PhD in Industrial Engineering

Q. Does anyone know of a PhD program in Industrial Engineering that is offered totally through distance learning?

A. -There are none with recognized accreditation in the US. There could be some interesting possibilities through British or Australian research doctorates. DeMontfort, for instance, does a range of technology doctorates. Residency is negotiable. I am hearing from more and more Americans who have been able to work out a nonresident approach, or one short visit, but it takes a lot of searching and planning. -Dunno about industrial engineering, but two possibilities come to mind. One: Is National Technical University still in business? They did DL master's courses, and I think you could get one or another MS engineering degrees from them. The courses looked absolutely ferocious--taught by guys from regular engineering schools. Two: I had a friend who got a PhD in electrical engineering--more of a mining engineering deal, but it seemed enough to get him a faculty job--from the University of Wales. I don't think he had to spend all that much time there, because he was working in the USA through his graduate study. That was another ferocious program, too. -Actually you can check Colorado State University or Mississippi State University, they may meet your need.
