Is filing IRS income tax Form 1040 voluntary?

Edwards Finance > Loans

Q. Is filing IRS income tax Form 1040 voluntary? Is filing IRS income tax Form 1040 voluntary? It's so confusing. So many web sites nowadays say income tax is voluntary like www.AllAboutFreedom.net ? Even former IRS agents are saying that it is voluntary: http://www.allaboutfreedom.net/proof_internal_revenue_service.html#USA Then there are other people saying it's not voluntary: http://evans-legal.com/dan/tpfaq.html#voluntary But then a congressional report says Filing IRS Income Tax Form 1040 is voluntary: http://www.allaboutfreedom.net/Docs/Grace_Commission_Reports.pdf And the Supreme Court rules both ways. So is filing IRS income tax Form 1040 voluntary?

A. - In exactly the same way that not stopping for a stop sign, not braking your car to avoid killing someone and not beating your spouse are voluntary. Obeying the law is voluntary but always be prepared to accept the consequences of your action
