Can someone point me to some place on the web - or elsewhere - that explains these concepts of Income Tax Expense and calculations?

Q. I have not been able to fully follow the calculations behind "Income Tax Expense" in the Operating Statement and "Provision for Deferred Tax Liability" in the Statement of Financial Position in my SMSF's end-of-year reports. My accountant says it is too complex for him to explain. The Income Tax Expense calculation involves concepts like tax effect accounting, permanent differences, etc. Can someone point me to some place on the web - or elsewhere - that explains these concepts of Income Tax Expense and calculations?
