Is it possible for someone with a bankruptcy seven years ago to get home financing?Q. Is it possible for someone with a bankruptcy seven years ago to get home financing? A. After 7 years most bankruptcies are off your credit reports, but every circumstance is different. If I were you I wouldn't take any answer to such a serious question from a newsgroup, (with quacks like us) contact a lawyer or a credit professional. Each situation is unique. After 6-7 years the bankcrupty is not as important as what happend to your credit during the time after the bankruptcy. If you managed to stay solvent and build a good credit history, you should be able to get the financing you want, probably at a higher rate. You may also want to work with mortgage broker instead of a lender has they have more flexibility. You may also want to seek a private financer(s) to help you. Before doing anything, please as suggested consult with an attorney & financial specialist.
