Why can't we send the Army Corps of Engineers to fix oil refineries?
My understanding is that only 24 of the 42 oil refineries are
operational which is keeping gas prices up.
If the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers could bring back 10 of the 18
downed refineries up and operational, that would have an impact on
lowering Gas prices.

Chassis questions.
I've now changed my plans once again for my Vega and was wondering
if it would be a problem to put in a full chassis in the car even though the
frame is bent quite a bit. Will it really make that big a difference since the
chassis is going to be all new or will things be like mounting points and other

Is there any type of reference that would give you an estimate of the
load a certain size screw can sustain in standard pine construction grade
lumber?
I placed a 3/8 inch eyebolt into the end of a flat 2/4 about 2 & 1/2 to 3

I am doing some work for an engineering firm. (around 22
people) They are running TS on a win2kSP2 dual 1GHz
system with 1GB of RAM. I sometimes wonder if such a
system is appropriate for an engineering firm. Why?
First, they run simulations. Although, they don't run

I've just downloaded the ss1.2a. It has "FF" for the engineering guide

this should be changed if a better setting is available. Is there a

postings, they are looking for programmers and technicians, not what I
would call engineers.
In Canada, you must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) to

I happen to believe that the discipline of "software engineering" can
be as rigorous as other, more tranditional, engineering. I also
believe that nobody deserves to be called an "engineer" unless that
person has, at least, a four year degree in engineering.
Software engineering typically does not require the knowledge of
chemistry, or physics, that is required of the more traditional

Can anyone tell me what a Marine Artificer does? (MOC 314). Just
a basic rundown.-Not much of anything. Baically in a nut shell they are the Chiefs and Petty

Sound Engineer Accreditation ?
I am just plain sick of working shows and providing sound systems for
artists and venues and then have the bands sound engineer ruin the show
by mixing the show horribily. I will analyze and tune the PA before
they get to the show site and the PA will sound great. Then they come
and flatten out the EQ graph and before the end of the sound check my
ears hurt because the sound is so harsh and brittle.

I can easily bodge most of it but there are a two things I can't bodge

Namely spacers/bushes to slot over bolts.

swear by goblin.Gnomish gives you several nifty and unpredictable gadgets, like the
Death Ray, the Shrink Ray, and World Enlarger, and so on. These things
are sort of useful, though they fairly often backfire with unfortunate
(though amusing) consequences. For example, the Death Ray *usually*
gives me a big advantage in a PVP fight, but at least ...
