Free Public Bankruptcy Recor?Q. Any free public database I can access on the net to find out if someone has filed bankruptcy in the last 20 years? Would appreciate any guidance with this. A. bankruptcy courts will have a database that can be accessed by phone for the cost of the call. With 95 districts, it may take some time, The U.S. Party/Case Index is pretty darn close to free at 7 cents per page at http://pacer.uspci.uscourts.gov, and I think the dial-up access at 877 808-2001 is free, and lets you search all 95 districts at once.
