How do you blame Bush for Enron's bankruptcy?Q. Enron went bankrupt. If they had Bush in their hip pocket, there is no way that this could have happened. But they went bankrupt anyways. Why? If you blame Bush for not protecting stock holders, then I am sorry to say, but buyer beware. Of course, you might have had more ammunition if Bush had the federal government bail them out like Crysler. However, Bush let them sink of their own dead weight. What was Bush doing for this last year that prevented him from overseeing Enron? First, Bush still doesn't have 1/3 of his government approved by the Democrat controlled Senate. Second, there was the election, setting up his team, passing much needed tax cuts, oh yes, and defeating terrorism. I guess he was a little busy. If Enron had bought government officials, we would not be talking about Enron. So, again what was Enron buying with there money? Certainly not bankruptcy protection, and certainly not protection from prosecution. What? Anything? A. You made an excellent post that no coherent thinking person could find fault with. I agree also that the dems are desperate to create any issue or scandal they can. I fail to see where Bush did Enron any favors at all to stave off bankruptcy...if Bush would have, he would have been criticized then for being in Enron's back pocket....the best thing to do is ignore the dems on the dem contrived so called scandal (if you can find one).. Bush had about as much to do with the way Enron worked or failed as he had to do with invention of the telephone.... I guess this is called spin. But, Enron did go bankrupt. They are facing fines and even jail time.
