Warning Enduro Engineering Case Saver KTM 99 300 EXC !Edwards Finance > General Engineering Q. I'm the sap that posted the message about which tranny fluid to run in my 99 KTM 300 EXC. I had monumental problems with my 1-2 shift after changing the tranny fluid after the first ride. Thanks for all of the great tips on which tranny fluid to use. It seems that Mobil 1 was recommended the most and I will try it when my GN-4 runs out. What I had forgotten and not even considered a factor was the fact that at the same time that I changed the tranny fluid I had also intalled an Enduro Engineering case saver. This case saver bolted on top of the hydraulic clutch, directly in front of the front sprocket using the existing bolt holes of the clutch cylinder but with longer bolts. What a friend noticed upon closer inspection was that the lower corner of the case saver was getting in the way of the shift lever on the long 1-2 shift. To get enough clearance for the shifter I basically had to completely grind off the bottom of the case saver and use the original bolt to secure the bottom of the clutch slave cylinder. What I am left with is a poor excuse for a case saver. It is secured by two bolts at the top but nothing at the bottom. It appears to be just slightly better than stock plastic chain guard which was completely worthless. I will contact enduro engineering about the problem (anyone know the phone number or web address)? I will also contact Holeshot about their case saver because that is one that was recomended to me by another RMD'er. Just thought I'd warn anybody that was considering the EE case saver. It gave me a tremendous scare. Being a pessimist and a dyded in the wool 'the glass is half empty' kind of guy I was sure that I was experiencing the beginning of major tranny problems. A. I also bought one of the enduro eng. case guards for my bike i noticed the problem with the shifter right away, also the chain will hit the guard very hard when the suspension is bottomed the design is VERY POOR I threw it away and fabricated my own guard which is much better!
