Electrical Engineering degree following Liberal Arts degreeEdwards Finance > Electrical Engineering Q. I graduated from college with a liberal arts degree. I was wondering how it might be possible for me to go back to school to get a degree in electrical engineering. Does anyone had any experiences with this kind of thing? Any help would be appreciated. A. -It depends on your other educational background, and possibly to a lesser extent, your aptitude and willingness to work hard. -With most universities what you covered counts the most, chances are you will have few courses that are "equivalent" to what you'd take in engineering. I'd say it's a good bet that for all intents and purposes you will be mostly starting from scratch, 4 years with most programs. -Your gen-ed stuff would be ok. You would need calculus and calc- based science (chem & physics) courses, unless you already took those. You would probably need to take up to a minimum of three years of electrical and some other engineering courses because of the prerequisites that are almost always a part of those courses. But on the other hand, you should get evaluated by a specific engineering program that you would have access to, and see what they would say when looking over your previous education.
