ADD and Computer Science

Edwards Finance > Computer Engineering

Q. I'm just wondering. Do any of you who inhabit this newsgroup work in the field of computer science--particularly are there any females, but are there _any ADDers_ who are computer scientists? I'm wondering about the chances of success of an ADDer who wants to major in engineering or computer science at a university. Also, if that is a good career choice. Or if there are any careers that relate to a computer science degree but are creative and captivating to an ADDer. Or, if you're not a computer scientist, but you are an ADDer in this group, and you are very succesful with computers, what do you do?? I just want to hear some experiences of ADD and computers. I'm AD, and think I want to do something along this lines, and need support. Or for someone to caution me.

A. I am a female working on a masters degree in computer science and engineering. I have all A's so far, although I must say I am atypical for ADD in that academic success has never been a problem. At any rate I love computers, have always found the interactive nature in working with the computer - as a user - to be engrossing. I love writing progams that make the computer do stuff (not to get too technical here), and just find the whole subject fascinating, very high tech, very exciting etc. I am also in email contact with a male who is working on a PhD in computer science who is also ADD.
