salary expectationEdwards Finance > Computer Engineering Q. Does anyone know what the expected salary is in Ottawa for a Web developer with 2-3 years of experience? A. Whatever you can get. Ottawa's market is being saturated with IT people. Depending on your experience "strengths" in web development would be the deciding factor of the expected salary. Ranges for Web developement are from the low 20,000$'s to 150,000$ + depending on you knowledge. Highest in demand seem to be Database access web developers with experience with tools such as impromptu, powerplay, etc. Developers that use tools such as Frontpage 98 are a dime a dozen. As you know going pretty much anywhere in the US will give you on average 3-5times what you can make locally. External to Ottawa, but still in Canada seems to be about double of Ottawas salaryies.. I have 5 years IT experience (non-develpment, but SQL DBA, WAN/LAN admin,Support), and average salaries here range between 55,000$-85,000 +benifits for myself as a regular fulltime employee and add on average in the same position about 15,000$-25,000$+ extra if you are a consultant
