Advice about CNE training....Edwards Finance > Computer Engineering Q. The course I'm thinking of taking is suppose to last about 6 months. They have graduated 120+ people. The cost is just under $4000. The completion rate is 95% and the first time pass rate (of the actual CNE test) is 97%. The course is one part lecture and alot of hands on. The salary I've been told for the RTP area is in the low 30s for just having a CNE-3. I plan on coming through this (if I do it) with a CNA-3, CNE-3, CNA-4 and CNE-4. It really sound almost too good to be true... hence, my posting. I still plan on finishing my computer engineering degree. I would like to use this to get into the computer industry/field and come out of school with a good background. The money does sound very good also. I'm hoping someone with a background in computer networking will straighten me out as far as fact from fiction on all this stuff... A. Certification won't get you a job. I can GUARANTEE that. I can also GUARANTEE the your comp eng degree will open *A LOT* more doors than any industry cert. Use the CNE + Degree to get in to a company. Most entry level engineering jobs start at $30k anyway. Volunteer or work at your univ network center. You'll get VALUABLE experience. Most likely, you'll get enough experience so that you won't EVEN need any courses to get your CNE cert.
