Q. I would like to comment on the annual report in ST on the annual paycheck of the grads from the various profession. Why the need for this? I remember vividly that Civil Engineering was the highest paid (according to the ST report), however, when I graduated, civil engr is among the lowest paid due to the crisis. Coincidentally, the following year after the ST report on civil engr, lots of my friends in engineering went into civil engr. Now, is computer science or computer engineering.... What does that tell you about the education in singapore.

A. -The annual report for ST is just facts and figures. How it is of use to the reader is entirely up to the individual. Just like the weather, when they say showers doesn't mean that you must bring an umbrella, but don't go blaming them if it rains and you don't have one. About your last comment. I could not see any implication that can be drawn from this about education in Singapore. -It tells you nothing. It is the same in Australia and probably Europe and America as well. The jobs are in IT. Therefore there is a move to IT related education.
