computer engineering education

Edwards Finance > Computer Engineering

Q. many high school graduates who would have got vocational training in the area of operation and maintenance of computers go to to college these days to get some skin-deep knowledge of computer system of which knowledge is proprietary in most cases. they spend millions to learn some abstract ideas and words which are not practical for their future occupation. is it right to teach abstract ideas and design issues to those mediocre students? is it right to copy blindly the curriculum of a nation which has many computer design centers and computer manufacturing companies? do pc assembly factories want such students as factory managers? is it bad to have local situation be reflected in the curriculum of a university? do engineering professors hate to be called instructors of vocational training centers? is over-education in the field of engineering good for the nation or students?

A.
