Computer/Enginnering Degree ?Edwards Finance > Computer Engineering Q. I have a letter in front of me (not dated) signed by Phillip L. Grantham, apparently an heir of Donald J. Grantham the founder. I quote, "Grantham offers bona fide Associate in Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering Technology and Electronic Engineering Technology." Their official 98 handbook lists the BSEET in the two disciplines you have defined. Maybe that is why they are not RA. They can't get the letters right. Or maybe because the son is the dean? Why bicker, it is only DETC. Who cares what it says. Perhaps you are right, and they've re-defined since 98. I would not mind it on my resume though. For now, I'll stick with COSC. Besides, can Engineering and Technology degrees be synonymous? When you compare most Technology and Engineering curricula, usually Engineering programs indicate a stricter Math/Science acumen. Given this, the Technology connotation condescends Engineering. A. My strong suspicion is that you and I are not even arguing the same issue. The only point that I've been trying to make here is that Grantham College (they've dropped the "Engineering" from the title) offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (regardless of what else they offer). They ALSO offer a BS in Engineering Technology (with a choice of electronics track or computer track). I'm just differentiating between the two different degrees. I'm really not sure what you think I'm arguing about -- I have never said anything about the use of the words "Engineering" or "Technology" in this discussion. I was responding to your statement: "Actually Granthams Degree is a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering Technology Computer Science." I disagreed with your statement, and posted the information that I had to support my viewpoint. I have since called Grantham College (this morning) and verified that the BSCS and the BSET(computer track) are two distinct degrees. Correcting this minor point was all that I was interested in, and I could not care less about Grantham's BSET degrees. I'm sure those degrees are fine. I think Grantham looks like a good DETC school either way.
