Question About Cell Phone Equipment ?

Q. Over the past couple years I've changed cell phone services and have accumulated a couple of cell phones. One is a digital Nokia about a year old. The other an older Motorola 3 watt. Question is are these useful for anything or worth anything? I can't believe it's the trash can for them, but when getting another service they give you another phone.

A. Well the RF amplifier and stuff from the older Motorola might be useful.. Any idea what freauency-range it is in? I think you'll find that they can still make emergency calls (911, 999, or whatever you use) regardless of whether they are still attached to a service. Easy to check, and if so then keep them in the car for emergencies? Most cities will collect them for distribution to the battered wives shelters, as he said 911 will still work. I have heard that 911 emergency will work, even if the phone isn't on an active account. You could donate them to needy folks who for an emergency link - oldsters with medical problems, for instance...
