Career in computer scienceEdwards Finance > Computer Engineering Q. I am currently going to North Central Texas College in Corinth, Texas, for my associates of applied science in computer information and technology. I am planning on pursuing a career in computer science, but am unsure which avenue to take-hardware, software, or web design. I love them all! Can I get some advice? A. -You will get all kinds of advice but, were it I, I would do hardware. But I'm a hardware sort and mostly analog. Software probably gives you excellent career options so give that one real thought. Web design? I think the software option is much better because from that you can jump into web design easily. All things considered, concentrate on software and hardware in that order. If you know a lot of either and a little of the other, you are in pretty good shape. -Do the hardware. It's easy enough to learn the software, and easier even to learn web programming/developing when you have a grounding in the more hardcore software engineering stuff... just try to remember when you're doing web design that most sites target non-technical audience who like an easy UI. It barely takes me a couple of weeks at relaxed pace to use (not master) a new language, but I've been hanging around the hardware stuff for more than a year and feel like I've taken about all of two baby steps.
