Q. I am speaking about business. What part of the employees safety did you not understand? Call waiting is necessary as managers are often on the road out side of the office environment. Yet they are required to be accessible for their employees' safety.

A. Call waiting on a cell phone? Absolutely unnecessary, unless someone else is paying the bills; every time that you put someone on hold, and speak on the other line you're being charged *double* the time! It's almost as bad when you're speaking to a salesperson, the phone rings, and they begin a new conversation with a "potential" customer, somehow forgetting about the one that they have right in front of them... you! But I guess with all of the cutbacks in staff whittling down the sales force, those automated checkouts just might be on the right track. It's no more of a nuisance, when another line rings and the person you're speaking with places you on hold to answer that line. It's exactly the same thing, but done without a multiple line phone. I actually prefer to check my own groceries out at the Superstore, so it can't come fast enough for me. Gone are the days when you could ask someone for assistance and have an intelligent, knowledgeable employee give you an answer. Unless they're trying to sell on commission. They were a discount store but did not use predator tatics. Predators need lots of money to sustain losses while they drive out the little guys. Then they raise prices back up - often to levels higher than what the competition had been charging. Regarding Multitech and Consumer's Distributing, they were still quite different. Consumers was more home goods while Multitech targeted the stereo enthusiasts, sort of what Wacky's and Future Shop do today.
