New office phone system, non ISDN solution?

Edwards Finance > Phones

Q. We will shortly be moving to a new office. We've so far made use of a fairly bog-standard ISDN PBX solution. For a number of reasons, we'd like to use only analogue lines at our new location. The requirements are: 6 separate incoming numbers, ringing 6 different phones 3 concurrent phone calls (minimum) ability to hold/transfer between the phones 6 separate voicemail boxes If we can do this with a fully DECT solution, all the better.

A. You *could* use Call Sign, but there aren't many PBXes that recognise it, and using the line ties up both numbers on that line. You also wouldn't get the correct Calling Line Identity presented when making outgoing calls. I'd use a small PBX, 6 lines 6 extensions, with each line set to ring inwards and be the default line outwards for one extension, then put a single-line DECT phone on each extension with the charger on that person's desk. Use dect phones wiht answering machines, if the PBX doesn't have voicemail. Single-line DECT phones are cheap as chips. Any recommendations for a PBX that'll handle 6 analogue lines and 6 extensions? If it has voicemail and a nice web admin interface, even better. That means 6 handsets, 6 base units, and 6 chargers, right? Any recommendations for DECT handsets/chargers/base units which can be purchased separately (that is, where I can buy 1x handset, 1x base unit, and 1x charger)? The small Panasonics are nice, the newer ones are programmable over USB. The older ones are quite affordable on Ebay, but need one keyphone for programming. It does mean you need a phone wire to each desk - an alternative is to put a rack of bases/chargers by the door, mail trays, etc where people pass in/out.
