Q. How is Bankruptcy Kansas apply?

A. While you are correct that bankruptcy is a federal practice, different states have different exemption schemes and different treatment of Chapter 13 Plans. In Maryland, for example, there is no homestead exemption and a Chapter 13 Plan must pay unsecured creditors at least 10%. Compare that with Kansas, with an unlimited homestead exemption and 0% Plans. Additionally, depending on the issue, the Courts in one circuit may treat that issue differently.
