Finance Q&A

Bankuptcy Filings

Edwards Finance > Loans

Q. Did the new bankruptcy law pass yet? There was talk of accelerating filing, because the new law is stricter about qualifying for full discharge.

A. As I remember it passed but hasn't gone into effect yet; there's a reference to it in the url that blash posted in response to my query for a source. They noted that some filing is doubtless a response to the new law. Still, people in healthy financial situations don't file personal bankruptcy just because it's on sale.
