Bankruptcy:To file or not to file

Edwards Finance > Loans

Q. With the new Bankruptcy reforms around the corner which will be more difficult to declare bankruptcy if they pass the laws:Question:1)Do you think is a good idea not to file and have a fresh start in a different country like Australia for example? Thanks ST.

A. That's a very personal decision. I think that most of my clients would prefer to file than to become an expatriate. And these days, there's no guarantee that creditors won't find you in Australia. I've filed for people in England, Poland, China, Japan, Panama and Australia who continued to be hounded by their US creditors.
