Finance Q&A

Bankruptcy Fees ?

Edwards Finance > Loans

Q. I've thought hard and I want to declare myself bankrupt. The problem is that I don't have the £300 court fee to do so . I am unemployed and claiming JSA. Would I be able to get these fees waived ?

A. How do you know he has one? He could be posting from a mates computer or a library. It seems crazy that those who truly don't have so much as a pot to piss in cannot declare themselves bankrupt because to do so costs £300 that they obviously don't have. So bankruptcy is an option open only to those who still have some wealth. Why bankruptcy? I guess that you do not have much capital? Try token payments to your creditors and then, go to the CAB with their responses and ask them to create a financial statement for you.
