Overseas assets safe after US bankruptcy ?

Q. Overseas assets safe after US bankruptcy ? Hi, I've gotten over my head with credit card debt in the US after living here for many years. I am a permanent resident, originally from the UK and I am thinking of filing bankrupt in the US and afterwards returning back to the family home in the UK for a few years. I'm worried if filing bankrupt in the US would expose my UK home to the US creditors and further complicate life. They don't know about the home, but are they likely to find out ? Can anyone offer any thoughts or experience ?

A. You are required to list *all* of your assets, including those overseas, in a US bankruptcy. Your UK house is subject to the Trustee's control.
