Which engineers are more in demand?

Edwards Finance > Architectural Engineering

Q. Of mechanical, electrical, and aerospace, which engineer is more in demand? And which would you do if you were interested in all 3? (or all 8 for that matter)

A. -I would do all three. The real world is mighty interdisciplinary. What parts / aspects of the different fields do you like? Look for the intersection of all three and go for it. Get good at all the general engineering skills that you take with you no matter what field you're in. In your decision process, you might want to think about what it's like to work as an aerospace engineer vs EE, etc. - who would you likely work for (less selection in aero, likely), what would you be doing? -With the increased globalization of businesses and increased need for maintaining competitive advantage & systems integration, Industrial Engineering should be one of the engineering disciplines that would be required for assistance. Typical aspects like the following is HOT: - supply chain management, design and integration - Business process engineering & re-engineering - TQM - Decision support systems (DSS) - Systems modelling, etc... Consult your local University for more information or have a look at some sites regarding Industrial Engineering on the WEB. http://www.isye.gatech.edu/www-ie/academic.html -Dittos on HVAC engineering. Also consider learning HVAC design through an architectural engineering program. You can found out more about ARCE at: http://www.arce.ukans.edu/nsae/main.htm
